So long and thanks for all the fish

It was my last day at the University of Miami today. I experienced many feelings throughout the day as I talked to various people. Happiness, guilt, elation, pride, honor and bits of nostalgia. Everyone was very supportive of my choice to move to Mercy Hospital with the disclaimer that they were going to miss me dearly. It was really touching and I didn’t expect nearly that many people to feel that way. Thanks everyone!

Now of course I couldn’t part with the University without leaving a few easter eggs behind. One of these was a new answering machine message on the cell phone I turned in. It’s just a short little clip from Grand Theft Auto which is both humorous and a statement about people who don’t have large families but still buy the Hummer H3. Now with fuel drop tanks for that trip across town!

So with the easter eggs in place there was only one final ceremony that needed to be formed. LAN PARTY!

In attendance was most of the original hard core LAN party crew including Angel, Ray, Enchanting, Warlord, Parr, The Muffin Man & Debbie. We ordered lots of pizza, watched Reno 911 clips, talked and joke about many things and finally settled in to an extended session of UT 2004! What a blast! I think I did pretty well even on trackball and at one point spent a few minutes inside the enemies base, holding their flag and killing everyone with my stump gun over and over again! I was temporarily unstoppable! Ah I loved it. Quite the perfect end to my last day at UM.

Thanks everyone for making my final day a memorable one. I’ll miss you all but I’m sure I’ll see a bunch of you online in City of Heroes, Jabber and many other electronic programs!

Bye!
